The VoterHomePrecinct shapefile is used for the purpose of conducting election planning, map requests and to provide precinct and district information to interested parties. The shapefile is also used as a guide by the San Diego County Registrar's office to make precinct consolidations for local, special or consolidated elections.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>As a function of election administration, the County of San Diego is subdivided into precinct tracts (home precincts), assigning voters to specific precincts based on their domicile. Voter home precincts take their shape from boundaries of all possible election districts and the maximum number of registered voters specified in the California Elections Code.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The County of San Diego Registrar of Voters has completed all post-redistricting updates brought by the 2020 Decennial Census. This precinct shapefile reflect those changes. </SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
