As a function of election administration, the County of San Diego is subdivided into precinct tracts, also referred to as voter home precincts. Voters are assigned to these precincts based on their domicile. The boundaries of voter home precincts are determined by the configuration of all applicable election districts and by the maximum number of registered voters permitted under the California Elections Code.
