Over the past decade, the State of California has enacted numerous housing laws aimed at addressing the statewide housing crisis and facilitating the development of new housing. This layer compiles current housing legislation applicable to the unincorporated areas of San Diego County.

These laws establish clear requirements and streamline the processes related to housing development. Because the State Legislature continues to adopt new housing bills each year, as well as amend existing statutes. This layer will be updated periodically to reflect the most current legislation in effect.

The County of San Diego implements all state housing and land use laws as they become effective. The layer includes the housing laws identified and summarized below:
